Mercy Housing California and the St. Anthony Foundation (SAF) jointly developed this ten-story, building that includes the rebuilt St. Anthony’s dining room, its new social work center, a clothing program, and 90 units of affordable housing above. SAF, a non-profit that has provided support to the local homeless and underserved community for 65 years and has provided over 40 million meals through their food program, had outgrown the capacities of its aging existing facilities and was in need of larger up-to-date spaces for their programs. Utilizing the creative concept of air rights parceling, SAF approached Mercy Housing California to jointly develop the 11,000 SF site to include social service programs on the first two floors with eight stories of affordable senior housing above.
