HKIT completed the modernization of the Starr King campus which includes completing all accessibility requirements in addition to a voluntary structural upgrade to the existing concrete frame, the remodel of existing classrooms to meet current sustainable and technology standards, additional toilet facilities, new administration and library building to provide adequate support space, and the first phase of the “green schoolyard”. When complete, the green schoolyard will transform an existing asphalt play yard into a green space with rainwater harvesting collection system, stormwater management creek, planting, and play structure made from natural materials.
