The renovation of 1000 Sutter Street, formerly the Granada Hotel, comprises 232 units of permanent supportive housing for the unhoused. Located in the Nob Hill neighborhood, the 10-story building was originally constructed in 1908 and requires upgrades to the foundation and the exterior envelope, as well as the addition of offices, community rooms, laundry rooms, and restrooms. HKIT’s design upgrades individual residential units to accommodate long-term housing needs. Episcopal Community Services’ acquisition of the building was partially funded through the California’s Project HomeKey fund.
