The Stanley Middle School campus scope included new construction as well as modernization. Modular construction was chosen for the new structure to save cost and time. HKIT worked to design a custom modular building that did not look modular and included large windows with nicely daylit classrooms. The two new classroom buildings included eight science, one flex, and three standard classrooms.
Modernization scope included restroom remodels, technology, fire alarm upgrades, and reconfiguring and re-purposing four outdated science classrooms into a STEAM wing. The classrooms were remodeled to allow for additional flexibility and ample support for the technology needed for these programs. All the classrooms connect through a prep room turned storage, allowing for project-based work between the Robotics, Art, Makers, and Computer classes.
