Faced with replacing an obsolete and undersized administration and plant control building on a tightly constrained site, HKIT Architects provided a creative solution for Silicon Valley Clean Water. The new building sits on a raised structural platform above existing primary sedimentation tanks. An open interstitial level provides full tank access for maintenance and operations. Building on the existing process structure rather than on grade eliminated an expensive deep foundation, and the site area was preserved for future process requirements. The new facility provides bright, open, and welcoming spaces resulting from the complete interior design services provided by HKIT, including the comprehensive selection of finishes and furniture.
