This project consists of modernizing an existing three-story, 27,415 sf unreinforced masonry school building, originally built in 1914. The scope includes creating a new school within the old modernization shell to meet the needs of 21st-century learning environments. Work included voluntary seismic strengthening, access compliance, life and safety work including new automatic fire sprinkler systems and new fire alarm systems, building systems work including new electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, building envelope work including window replacement, new roof, masonry repair, and complete interior renovation.
