Devries Place, Milpitas

This senior housing community consists of 103 residential units in a new four-story building and the relocation and restoration of an historic house. The existing DeVries Home, a 1915 Prairie Style historic home, was moved to the southwest corner of the site. HKIT designed around the house a modern apartment building that successfully harmonizes both buildings and the site. The first building level consists of a parking garage and lobby; three residential levels sit above. Gracious landscaped courtyards are integrated into the community both at grade – connecting the historic house and senior community – and at the podium level for the senior residents.
