A large notch at the center of the building provides space for a two-story high community room and reduces the apparent length of the building.
The goals for this project were to provide high-quality housing on a challenging triangular site and improve the quality of the surrounding neighborhood by replacing aged single-family houses with a handsome building compatible in size and style to the surrounding office buildings. The structure is organized around a single-loaded corridor that backs up to the highway. This strategy ensures that the units face away from the highway, and the corridor acts as a sound buffer for the units.
