Paseo Estero & Vista Estero at Brooklyn Basin

Oakland, CA

Located in Oakland’s emerging Brooklyn Basin neighborhood, Paseo Estero and Vista Estero are two multi-story buildings offering one, two, and three-bedroom units. The project is thoughtfully divided into two segments: a 101-unit affordable multi-family building and a 110-unit affordable senior living facility.

The design goals of the project were to create a vibrant new mixed-use neighborhood with a diverse mixture of residents; to provide walkable, activated, and lively public streets and open spaces; to spatially define and reinforce the public character of the streets and open spaces; and to provide a diversity of architectural expressions.

This project is part of a larger master-planned community (Oak to Ninth) and was designed to conform to the guidelines established in the master plan.

Each building is designed with different materials, textures, and colors to increase richness of the urban environment
