Located on formerly-owned U.S. Navy land donated to the Alameda Housing Authority/Island City Development, the Alameda North Housing site comprises two distinct communities: Linnet Corner and Estuary I. Linnet Corner offers one-bedroom homes to 64 senior households, of which 16 will be permanent supportive housing (serving disabled veterans), while the Estuary I community offers 45 units of studio and one-bedroom homes for the formerly unhoused. The development includes future plans for Estuary II, adding another 46 units of permanent supportive housing for unhoused families.
The buildings are sited to face each other with shared parking at the center of the property, with Linnet Corner configured in an L-shaped building with a courtyard facing west for gatherings and group activities. Estuary I includes a pet-friendly courtyard with barbecue and ample seating for resident activities.
Both buildings provide staff and common amenities including community rooms, management offices, computer rooms, laundry facilities, and bicycle storage. Alameda North is all-electric and GreenPoint rated Platinum.
