San Leandro Unified School District Master Plan
San Leandro, CA
Assessments at 12 school sites guided an extensive modernization program
San Leandro Unified School District passed two bond measures, a $104M Bond Measure in June 2016 and the Bond Measure N, which passed in March 2020. In 2016, every facility across twelve school campuses was evaluated, examining building roofs, sites, and play areas.
In collaboration with District facilities staff, the school superintendent, and bond consultants, the information was compiled into a detailed assessment report with line-item cost estimates, graphical representations of existing conditions, and plans for modernizations, portable replacements, and new constructions.
Community meetings to facilitate input from faculty, staff, students, parents, and community members were conducted. The feedback and refined project materials were shared with the community and incorporated into the District’s website.
In 2019/2020, graphic materials were prepared for each site, demonstrating work completed with previous bond monies and projects slated for the proposed Bond. Materials were shared with the sites and community through the District website.
