Heritage on the Marina Interiors
San Francisco, CA
Natural light and high ceilings provide an inviting backdrop for this Adult Day Health Center
The Heritage at the Marina has served as a refined and sophisticated life care retirement community for over 65 years. HKIT has completed several projects at this historic site, each incorporating timeless style elements to create comfortable, polished spaces using high-quality and sustainable materials. The recent interior improvements to several living units and common spaces were designed to foster stronger connections between the interior and the garden exteriors and between the residents. The interior design vision highlights this connection to nature with hues that balance the unique quality of sunlight filtered through frequent layers of fog in the Marina District and biophilic design elements like plants, natural materials, and nature-inspired textures and patterns on the furniture. Adult day rooms and large lounges connect the residents and the world around them, contributing to their health and well-being.
