It’s our pleasure to introduce three new staff members who joined HKIT in July! They bring a wide range of industry experience and a fresh perspective to our education, affordable housing and senior living projects.

Akshata Atre, Junior Designer
Akshata is a recent graduate of UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design, where she received her BA in Architecture with a minor in City & Regional Planning. She is passionate about working at the intersection of these two fields and designing spaces that affect social change and create a positive social impact. Prior to joining HKIT, she worked as an intern at Watry Design, Inc.
Steve Lovell, Architect/Senior Project Manager
With over 30 years of design experience, Steve has worn many hats through the entire process of design, from conceptual development through collaboration to construction. His experience encompasses community centers, libraries, retail, commercial and high-end hospitality projects. Steve received a Master of Architecture from MIT and an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Prior to joining HKIT, Steve was a Senior Project Manager at William Duff Architects, and a Principal and Director of Design with Field Paoli Architects in San Francisco for two decades.
Kevin Dobson, AIA, Architect/Construction Administrator
Kevin brings over 20 years of design and construction experience to HKIT and has worked on a wide range of projects including assisted living facilities, K-12 schools, healthcare, and municipal projects. He has a passion for renewable energy. Kevin earned his Bachelor of Architectural Design & Planning at the Southern California Institute of Architecture, he is licensed in the State of California, and is certified with Cal OES Safety Assessment Program.
